If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all!
My loyal readers,
I have not made an update in quite a while though I do intend to make update weekly to semi-weekly. Eventually
I've been working / studying but my studying is veering toward the "too shallow" category so I've been trying to narrow my focus. I am taking two graduate courses that are, thus far, pretty cool. I believe I mentioned these in a previous post but one of the courses is Flexible Regression in R and the other is Statistical Data Science in Python.
In addition to these, my interest in understanding k8s has made me realize I can go no further if I continue to be scared of Linux. As mentioned in a previous post, I've been studying and practicing some Linux labs but it's hard for me to "just study" without a goal or directive and this is where I get a little scattered.
I am, therefore, planning to take the RHCSA exam later this year. I don't want to be cert chasing for too long but I like having a defined curriculum and an end goal and, by all accounts, this exam is wholly practical. I may also chase a CKAD but I suspect I'll look back at this post later in the year and laugh at my hubris.
I've been extremely busy with work and while I enjoy nearly all of it I started to feel a bit blah (sorry to be overly technical). Fortunately, I've been able to see some concerts and I've been listening to music at home again.
The BSO is still in the midst of its years-long Shostakovich survey and I was lucky enough to attend Baiba Skride playing the second violin concerto. This is a strange piece that I've always liked and she was amazing as soloist. I was also lucky enough to hear the Emerson quartet's farewell concert and that too had some Shostakovich as well as a short piece by George Walker as well as masterworks by Beethoven and Bartok. Fun times!
I will keep you updated as I go. If anyone wants to comment on my quixotic RHCSA plan, please do!
